Arts Content Management System

Examples of three different departmental website homepages: departments use colour, photography, and copy to convey their unique identities within the constraints of the template.

Module and page layouts were designed and optimized for mobile and tablet responsiveness.
Results of an eye tracking study post-launch identified issues with the initial carousel design where users overlooked the primary CTA, leading to a redesign of the carousel module.
A self-serve help site was created to provide documentation around strategy, content and design best practices, and technical support.

Our in-house team created a custom WordPress-based content management system (CMS) to meet the most common website needs of Arts units. A user-centered and data-driven approach to site design and content strategy enabled us to support user, unit, and faculty goals, while enabling a consistent experience on any device.

The module-based design system is easy to use, allowing site administrators without advanced technical or design knowledge to updates sites while still complying with accessibility and design best practices. User testing was completed at key steps throughout the process, validating content and design strategies and informing revisions and improvements prior to launch.

Our team is committed to continual improvement and has continued to monitor feedback, analytics, and performance on Arts CMS sites and features, making updates to both visual design and technical performance as needed. Arts CMS continues to be used on 40+ sites across Arts and has significantly improved the consistency, quality, and usability of websites in the Faculty.
